Baird-Parker medium was developed by Baird-Parker in 1962 for the isolation and enrichment of coagulase-positive staphylococci from food samples.
-
This medium is widely used for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus in various food products, dairy products, and other materials. Coagulase-positive staphylococci can also grow in cosmetics.
-
Therefore, these products are tested for the presence of coagulase-positive staphylococci.
-
Baird-Parker medium is a selective and differential medium used to detect and enumerate Staphylococcus aureus.

2. Inoculate the agar plates directly with the clinical specimens or test samples.
3. Incubate the plates at the appropriate temperature and time as required by the standard protocol or guidelines.
4. Place the agar plates upside down, with the lids facing downwards.
