INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ E.coli is a selective chromogenic medium designed for the detecton and enumeraton of ß-glucuronidase positve E. coli in food, water and environmental samples.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ E.coli utilizes chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymatic activities of E. coli, producing blue colonies for easy differentiation. Selective agents are incorporated to suppress non-target organisms, ensuring specificity. This formulation allows for the rapid and reliable detection of ß-glucuronidase-positive E. coli, streamlining microbiological workflows in food safety and environmental testing.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
Streak the sample or place the inoculated membranes on plate surface.
Incubate in aerobic conditions at 37°C for 24 hours.

RESULTS
