INTENDED USE
- BacterChrom™ STEC Agar is a selective chromogenic culture medium intended for use in the qualitative direct detection, differentiation and presumptive identification of Shiga-like-toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC), to aid in the diagnosis of STEC infections.
- The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.
PRINCIPLES
- BacterChrom™ STEC Agar differentiates microorganisms based on specific enzymatic activities that trigger distinct chromogenic reactions. These reactions result in visually distinguishable colony colors, enabling rapid presumptive identification of STEC while inhibiting non-target organisms. The selective components ensure high specificity by minimizing interference from competing flora.
