INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ Vibrio is a chromogenic culture medium designed for the isolation and detection of Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Vibrio vulnificus, and Vibrio cholerae. This medium supports the identification of these pathogenic species in environmental, seafood, and surface samples. The medium is particularly valuable for monitoring Vibrio species in public health and environmental safety contexts, assisting in the prevention of seafood-borne illnesses.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ Vibrio incorporates chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymatic activities of target organisms, producing characteristic colony colors for differentiation. The selective agents in the medium inhibit non-target flora, ensuring specificity and enhancing detection accuracy. This simplifies the visual identification of Vibrio species in complex sample matrices.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
Direct streaking sample onto the plate
Incubate at 37 °C for 24 hours in aerobic conditions.

RESULTS

BacterLab ensures the quality of each product batch by testing with ATCC reference strains.
