INTENDED USE

BacterPlate™ Meat Extract Agar is a general-purpose culture medium used for the cultivation of non-fastidious microorganisms. It is widely utilized in food microbiology, water testing, and other microbiological applications to support bacterial growth and colony formation for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLE

BacterPlate™ Meat Extract Agar is formulated to provide essential nutrients and a stable environment for microbial growth. The medium supports the cultivation of a wide range of microorganisms by offering a balanced combination of organic compounds, growth factors, and a solid matrix for colony isolation.

Allow the agar plates to reach room temperature. Dry the plates in an incubator by slightly opening the lid.
Inoculate test samples from the enrichment medium onto the surface of the agar plates.
Incubate the inoculated plates under aerobic conditions at 35 – 37°C for 18 – 24 hours.

RESULTS

After incubation for the required duration, observe the colonies growing on the surface of the plate for characteristic traits such as colony size, color, and morphology.
Identification of the isolated bacteria must be carried out through appropriate subsequent tests.

Peptic digest of animal tissue	10,0 g

Meat extract	3,0 g
Agar	14,0 g

pH of the ready-to-use medium at 25⁰C: 7,0 ± 0,2
