MỤC ĐÍCH SỬ DỤNG
- BacterSerum™ Freeze-dried rabbit plasma use the coagulase test to differentiate Staphylococcus aureus from Coagulase negative Staphylococcus.
NGUYÊN TẮC
- Staphylococcus aureus produces two types of coagulase:
- Extracellular coagulase reacts with prothrombin;
- Bound coagulase, which adheres to the bacterial wall, reacts with fibrinogen to produce coagulation.
- In tests, free coagulase reacts primarily by forming clots in the plasma, indicating a positive reaction. In cases of coagulase-negative staphylococci, screening for the presence of other enzymes such as phosphatase or deoxyribonuclease, which are also indicators of pathogenicity, should be performed
