INTENDED USE

BacterTube™ BHI with XV is a non-selective enrichment medium that supports the growth of all bacteria, including Haemophilus influenzae. It is designed to promote the growth of a wide range of microorganisms, without inhibiting any specific bacterial species.

PRINCIPLES

BacterTube™ BHI with XV is formulated to provide essential nutrients to support the growth of a broad range of microorganisms, particularly those with complex nutritional requirements. The composition includes:
- Brain-Heart Infusion: Provides rich nutritive compounds to support fastidious bacterial growth.
- IsoVitaleX™ Enrichment: A supplement containing vitamins, amino acids, and other growth factors to enhance the growth of microorganisms, especially for those with complex nutrient needs.
- Sodium chloride: Maintains osmotic balance in the medium.
- Disodium phosphate: Acts as a buffering agent to maintain pH stability.
- Glucose: Serves as an energy source to promote the growth of microorganisms.

Directly inoculate the specimen or sample into the medium.
Incubate at 35 – 37°C for 4 – 8 hours.
Perform subculturing on specialized agar plates containing selective media and incubate under appropriate conditions

RESULTS

Positive Test: A positive result is indicated by the formation of a mass within 24 hours.
Negative Test: A negative result is indicated when no mass is formed after 24 hours.

BacterLab ensures the quality of each product batch by testing with ATCC reference strains.
