INTENDED USE

BacterTube™ Pyruvate Broth is recommended for the differentiation of microorganisms based on pyruvate utilization.

PRINCIPLES

The medium supports microbial differentiation through the following components:
- Sodium Pyruvate: Serves as the fermentable carbohydrate.
- Bromothymol Blue: An acid-base indicator that turns yellow when acid is produced during fermentation.
- Yeast Extract: Provide essential nutrients for growth.
- Diphosphate Buffer: Maintains pH stability throughout incubation

RESULTS

Pyruvate fermentation is indicated by the appearance of a yellow color in the broth within 5 days following inoculation.
Negative result when the medium does not change color.

BacterLab ensures the quality of each product batch by testing with ATCC reference strains.
