It is commonly used in clinical microbiology and microbiological quality control testing. This medium supports the growth of organisms such as <em>Haemophilus<\/em>, <em>Neisseria<\/em>, <em>Taylorella<\/em>, and <em>Campylobacter<\/em>, which require specific growth factors (X and V factors).
