INTENDED USE

StickSpongesCollect™ Polyurethane D/E Neutralizing Broth, 10 mL is designed for microbial sampling from surfaces in food processing, medical, and pharmaceutical environments. The primary purpose of this product is to facilitate the collection of microbial samples from surfaces, particularly from hard-to-reach areas such as drains, equipment, and surrounding areas in food production facilities. D/E Neutralizing Broth helps neutralize the effects of disinfectants and protects microorganisms throughout transport and analysis.

PRINCIPLES

StickSpongesCollect™ Polyurethane D/E Neutralizing Broth, 10 mL utilizes a plastic stick with an attached biocide-free polyurethane sponge combined with 10 mL of D/E Neutralizing Broth to collect microorganisms from surfaces. D/E Neutralizing Broth neutralizes the effects of disinfectants such as chlorine, quaternary ammonium compounds, iodine, phenolic compounds, mercury, formaldehyde, and glutaraldehyde, protecting microorganisms from their harmful effects. This medium provides the necessary nutrients to recover and promote microorganism growth, while maintaining their viability during transport. D/E Neutralizing Broth not only neutralizes disinfectants but also preserves the integrity of microorganisms, ensuring accurate analysis results. Bromocresol purple is included in the medium as a pH indicator, allowing monitoring of the neutralization process.

Inspect the StickSpongesCollect™ product to ensure there is no damage or contamination during storage.
Write sample information on the provided label attached to the product packaging.
Tear the bag along the pre-marked perforated line.
Remove the StickSpongesCollect™ stick by pulling the bag from the outside. Be careful not to touch the inside of the bag.
Rub the StickSpongesCollect™ sponge on the area to be sampled.
After sampling, return the sampling stick to the bag, making sure not to insert it too deep to avoid touching the inside of the bag.
Remove the sponge from the stick by holding the sponge from the outside of the bag and gently shaking until the sponge comes off the stick.
Use the provided tie to seal the StickSpongesCollect™ bag by rolling the top of the bag and tightly twisting the tie inside the bag..
The sample must be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible to prevent changes in microbial characteristics. The transportation process should comply with sample storage regulations

StickSpongesCollect™ Polyurethane D/E Neutralizing Broth, 10 mL is produced in a closed environment, adhering to strict hygiene regulations. The biocide-free polyurethane sponge is sterilized using gamma irradiation, ensuring no contaminants affect the sample quality.
LabCollect ensures the quality of each product batch of the medium by testing with ATCC reference strains.
