INTENDED USE

SpongesCollect™ Polyurethane Saline (0.9% NaCl), 10mL is designed for microbiological sampling from surfaces in food processing, healthcare, and pharmaceutical environments. The primary purpose of this product is to assist in collecting microbial samples from large, easily accessible surfaces and surrounding areas within food production facilities. Saline (0.9% NaCl) helps maintain the viability and stability of microorganisms throughout transport and analysis, protecting them from the effects of external environmental factors without altering their biological characteristics.

PRINCIPLES

SpongesCollect™ Polyurethane Saline (0.9% NaCl), 10mL uses a biocide-free polyurethane sponge combined with 10mL of Saline (0.9% NaCl) to collect microorganisms from surfaces. The Saline (0.9% NaCl) solution helps maintain the stability of microorganisms by providing a neutral environment with no inhibitory effects on the microorganisms. This solution protects the microorganisms from factors that could alter their characteristics during transport and analysis, while keeping them viable and stable before being transferred to selective media.

Inspect the SpongesCollect™ product to ensure there is no damage or contamination during storage.
Write sample information on the provided label attached to the product packaging.
Tear the bag along the pre-marked perforated line.
Push the sponge near the edge of the bag so that part of the sponge is exposed for easy handling. Hold the sponge from the outside of the bag and carefully remove it directly by hand, making sure not to touch the inside surface of the bag to avoid contamination.
Rub the SpongesCollect™ sponge on the area to be sampled.
After sampling, return the sponge to the bag. Ensure the sponge does not fall out and avoid direct contact with the outer surface of the packaging.
Use the provided tie to seal the SpongesCollect™ bag by rolling the top of the bag and tightly twisting the tie inside the bag.
The sample must be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible to prevent changes in microbial characteristics. The transportation process should comply with sample storage regulations.

SpongesCollect™ Polyurethane Saline (0.9% NaCl), 10mL is produced in a closed environment, adhering to strict hygiene regulations. The biocide-free polyurethane sponge is sterilized using gamma irradiation, ensuring no contaminants affect the sample quality.
