Cotton swabs for sample collection are one of the most widely used methods for surface microbiological testing. With various sizes available (1ml, 4ml, 10ml), technicians are provided with convenient swabs for efficient collection of surface contact samples or food samples.
The BacterContact™ and BacterContact™ Pro contact plates come in both irradiated and non-irradiated types, with packaging available in 1 and 3 layers for monitoring surface and personnel microbiology in critical and non-critical areas within clean rooms. These plates are suitable for use in environments with or without neutralizing agents such as lecithin (L), tween 80 (T), histidine (H), and sodium thiosulfate (Th). They can be supplemented with cephalosporinase (cephase) or penicillinase (penase) to effectively neutralize a wide range of β-lactam antibiotics.
For air sampling in cleanrooms and controlled environments, Tryptone Soya Agar (TSA) and Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) plates are commonly used along with microbial air samplers. These plates are designed to capture and support the growth of airborne microorganisms present in the sampled air.
