INTENDED USE
- BacterChrom™ O157 Agar is a chromogenic medium specifically designed for the selective isolation and differentiation of E. coli O157 in animal and food samples.
- The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.
PRINCIPLES
- BacterChrom™ O157 Agar employs chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymes, allowing the differentiation of microorganisms based on colony color. The selective agents in the medium inhibit the growth of non-target organisms, providing a clear and reliable visual distinction. This simplifies the detection process and ensures accurate presumptive identification of E. coli O157.
- Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
- Direct streaking sample onto the plate
- Incubate aerobically at 37 °C for 24 hours
