INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ O157 Agar is a chromogenic medium specifically designed for the selective isolation and differentiation of E. coli O157 in animal and food samples.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ O157 Agar employs chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymes, allowing the differentiation of microorganisms based on colony color. The selective agents in the medium inhibit the growth of non-target organisms, providing a clear and reliable visual distinction. This simplifies the detection process and ensures accurate presumptive identification of E. coli O157.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
Direct streaking sample onto the plate
Incubate aerobically at 37 °C for 24 hours

RESULTS
