INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ LIN-R is a selective and differential chromogenic medium designed for the detection, isolation, and differentiation of Gram-positive bacteria resistant to linezolid (LIN-R). It is particularly intended for screening specimens such as nasal, rectal, and perianal swabs, as well as stool samples. The medium supports monitoring programs for antibiotic resistance, aiding in infection control efforts in healthcare environments
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ LIN-R incorporates chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymatic activities of linezolid-resistant Gram-positive bacteria, producing distinctive colony colors. Selective agents in the medium inhibit the growth of non-target organisms, ensuring specificity. The medium offers a rapid and efficient method for presumptive identification of resistant bacteria, simplifying laboratory workflows.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
Direct streaking sample onto the plate
Incubate at 35 – 37 °C for 36 – 48 hours in aerobic conditions.
