INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ B.cepacia is a selective chromogenic medium designed for the qualitative direct detection, differentiation, and presumptive identification of Burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC) bacteria.
Additionally, BacterChrom™ B.cepacia can be applied in the pharmaceutical industry to analyze non-sterile, water-based products like creams or syrups for BCC contamination
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ B.cepacia employs chromogenic substrates that react with specific enzymatic activities of Burkholderia cepacia complex bacteria, resulting in distinct colony colors. The selective agents incorporated into the medium inhibit non-target organisms, ensuring high specificity and minimizing interference. This combination of chromogenic and selective properties facilitates the rapid presumptive identification of BCC bacteria.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
Clinical field: Streak sample. Incubate at 35°C to 37°C during 36 to 72 h in aerobic atmosphere.
Pharma industry: Streak sample or place the inoculated membrane (if using filtration) onto plate. Incubate at 30°C to 35°C during 36 to 72 h in aerobic atmosphere
