INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ C3GR is a selective and differential chromogenic medium intended for the qualitative direct detection of gastrointestinal colonization with third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacteria (C3GR-E). This medium can also serve as an early warning indicator for diagnostic tests, signaling the possible presence of multidrug-resistant bacteria.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ C3GR employs chromogenic substrates that interact with specific enzymatic activities unique to C3GR-E, producing distinct colony colors for visual identification. The selective agents incorporated into the medium inhibit non-target organisms, ensuring high specificity. This combination facilitates rapid presumptive identification of resistant Enterobacteria, supporting infection control efforts in clinical environments.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.

Incubate at 35 – 37 °C for 18 – 24 hours in aerobic conditions
