INTENDED USE

BacterChrom™ Cronobacter is a selective chromogenic medium designed for the isolation and detection of Cronobacter species. It is particularly useful for testing food, animal feed, and environmental samples, in compliance with ISO 22964 standards. This medium supports rapid and reliable screening for Cronobacter spp., aiding in food safety and quality control processes.
The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.

PRINCIPLES

BacterChrom™ Cronobacter contains chromogenic substrates that interact with specific enzymatic activities of Cronobacter spp., producing green to blue colonies for easy identification. Selective agents suppress non-target organisms, ensuring high specificity. This formulation facilitates efficient isolation and differentiation of Cronobacter spp. from other Gram-negative bacteria and contaminants.

Allow to warm to room temperature before inoculation, dry the plates in an incubator with the covers partially removed.
From an appropriate enrichment broth, streak a loopful (10 µL) onto plate.
Incubate at 41.5 ± 1°C for 24 h ± 2 h, in aerobic conditions
