INTENDED USE

BacterTube™ Peptone Diluent The preliminary enrichment medium in the process of isolating bacteria from food samples is commonly as a diluent for preparing samples before further testing.

PRINCIPLES

BacterTube™ Peptone Diluent is a diluent solution combined with the support of another substance to maximize the recovery of microorganisms. Peptone in the diluent solution serves a protective role. The low concentration of peptone does not cause microbial growth within 45 minutes (at 20-25°C) after the sample dilution.

Prior to inoculation, allow medium to equilibrate to room temperature
Use a sterile inoculation loop to transfer a sample from an isolated colony on the agar plate into the test tube containing the medium.
Incubate the tube at 35 – 37°C.
Examine the tube after 18 – 24 hours of incubation.
Observe and record the results.

RESULTS

Based on the turbidity of each tube, the growth ability of the strain can be determined.
To identify the bacterium, further appropriate tests must be carried out.

BacterLab ensures the quality of each product batch by testing with ATCC reference strains.
