INTENDED USE

BacterTube™ Tryptone Soya Broth (TSB) is a high-nutrient medium primarily used for cultivating and growing microorganisms from blood cultures, making it essential for clinical microbiological diagnostics, including bacteremia detection.

PRINCIPLES

The medium contains tryptone and soya peptone, providing a rich source of amino acids and long-chain peptides for microbial growth. Dextrose (Glucose) serves as the energy source, and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate acts as a buffer, while sodium chloride helps maintain osmotic balance.

Heat the loop’s tip until it becomes red in the flame, then lightly heat the handle of the loop, ensuring the loop is uniformly hot.
Inoculate the medium in the test tube with the sample.
Place the tube in the incubator under aerobic conditions at 35 – 37°C for 18 – 24 hours.

RESULTS

After incubation for the required time, usually between 18 – 24 hours, observe the development of colonies based on the turbidity of the medium or the appearance of characteristic colony features.
Identification of bacteria: To properly identify the isolated bacteria, further appropriate tests such as biochemical tests, Gram staining, or other suitable methods should be conducted.
