INTENDED USE
- BacterPlate™ Meat Extract Agar is a general-purpose culture medium used for the cultivation of non-fastidious microorganisms. It is widely utilized in food microbiology, water testing, and other microbiological applications to support bacterial growth and colony formation for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
- The packaging with semi-permeable Cellophane film helps balance the humidity of the environment during storage.
PRINCIPLE
- BacterPlate™ Meat Extract Agar is formulated to provide essential nutrients and a stable environment for microbial growth. The medium supports the cultivation of a wide range of microorganisms by offering a balanced combination of organic compounds, growth factors, and a solid matrix for colony isolation.
- Allow the agar plates to reach room temperature. Dry the plates in an incubator by slightly opening the lid.
- Inoculate test samples from the enrichment medium onto the surface of the agar plates.
- Incubate the inoculated plates under aerobic conditions at 35 – 37°C for 18 – 24 hours.
RESULTS
- After incubation for the required duration, observe the colonies growing on the surface of the plate for characteristic traits such as colony size, color, and morphology.
- Identification of the isolated bacteria must be carried out through appropriate subsequent tests.
